15. Think of the opponent s's hands and feet as swords
Really a simple rule to keep in mind. If they can't hit you they can't hurt you. Many times we look at someone and think they are too small too old or too weak to hurt me. However, all of us that have studied the Martial Arts realize this is not the case. The best block one can do is not to get hit. It does not have to be a picture perfect rising block or down block as much as a quick step back or to the side. You would not try and catch a sword strike so don't think you have to block every attack.
