7. Calamity springs form Carelessness
Simply stated mistakes happen when we are put under pressure but we don't meet that pressure equally.
All to often we take the simple things for granted and don't do them at full speed, force or with proper force. This relaxed state in practice will lead to us making the same mistakes when we have to used these moves in real life.
As a football coach we always say you play like your practice. The harder you work in practice the better you play. This is very true for karate. Anyone and everyone can go though the motions but as you go up in rank some students start to separate themselves from other simple because they put more into it than others. This can be in time, effort, understanding, etc.
All moves are made to work and all moves will work if applied correctly they only do not work when we screw them up because we become relaxed and careless.
