The outcome of battle depends on how one handles weakness and strength
The concept talked about in the 14th Kun is simply stated in what do I do well and what does my opponent not do well. If I am faster then I need to use my speed. If I am stronger I should use my power. If he is a good kicker I should try to move closer in and so on.
I am a firm believe in you make the attack defeat your best weapon. Regardless if that is a side kick or back fist don't be afraid to use your strength because the other person may be more skilled. If I do not use my best weapon or method of attack then what chance do I actually have? Assuming I am not the better fighter....
This is one reason why it is important to train in many different techniques and be proficient with both your left and right sides. Think of it like this. I may have a favorite shirt or pair of shoes but I also have others I could wear if needed. However, if I just wore the same one over and over then it would become a actually weakness because sooner or alterer it would wear out.
You must also be careful not to allow your opponent to know your weak point. Good martial artist can quickly assess something wrong in their attacker. They may be facing a leg or unwilling to attack. Once you know where they are weak you can exploit it. However understand that they are trying to do that to you as well.
I do not have to be the better fighter or martial artist to win. I don't even have to be stronger or faster. If I can find you Achilles Heel then I got a shot assuming I can keep mine hidden from you long enough.
